The Iron Scouts
Troop 571 gained the nickname “The Iron Scouts”, for our signature event held each June. Scouts participate in a wide variety of challenging outdoor activities within a single day. They complete canoeing, hiking, & mountain-biking courses that stretch from Rattlesnake Lake to Snoqualmie Pass. They also demonstrate their scout skills, and show their mastery of a rope-traverse or tomahawk throwing.
“Extreme” versions of events such as a mile swim, more challenging mountain bike and hiking courses add to the enjoyment for experienced scouts in the troop. The event has been featured in Boy’s Life magazine.
