Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

Troop 571

Founded in February 1987, Troop 571 is one of the largest and most active troops in the region. We have a strong, scout-led program, with support from a large group of fully trained BSA adult advisors.

Our troop is dedicated to instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law in the young men and women. Helping them build character, foster citizenship, develop fitness and learn to make good ethical & moral choices over their lifetimes.

Troop meetings are every Monday at 7:00 pm at
Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church
1121 228th Avenue SE, Sammamish, WA, 98075.

The Iron Scouts

Troop 571 gained the nickname “The Iron Scouts”, for our signature event held each June. Scouts participate in a wide variety of challenging outdoor activities within a single day. They complete canoeing, hiking, & mountain-biking courses that stretch from Rattlesnake Lake to Snoqualmie Pass. They also demonstrate their scout skills, and show their mastery of a rope-traverse or tomahawk throwing.

“Extreme” versions of events such as a mile swim, more challenging mountain bike and hiking courses add to the enjoyment for experienced scouts in the troop. The event has been featured in Boy’s Life magazine.

Building Character & Leadership

The troop’s commitment to strong programs and personal development is also exemplified by the troop’s outstanding Merit Badge program, with many highly-qualified counselors and regular meetings dedicated to helping scouts work on starting or completing Merit Badges. We also place a high value on helping our communities and other local organizations through regular service and Eagle Scout projects.

Outdoor Program

Blessed with exceptional scouts, deep adult leadership and resources, the troop has a very active outdoor adventure program including monthly outings, multiple local & national high-adventure crews and a quality summer camp experience each year.
