How does it work?

Troop 5749 is dedicated to offering the same great Scouting experience and year-round program to girls in our community. Troop 5749 is a “linked troop” associated with Troop 571. In a linked troop, there is a troop for girls and a troop for boys. Both troops are chartered by the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah. To learn more about what a “linked troop” is, watch this video.

The Girls Troop has its own separate Scoutmaster, membership, youth leadership, and patrols, but shares a common troop committee, meeting location, and meeting times (Mondays at 7pm) with Troop 571. Assistant Scoutmasters are registered in both troops.  While the Troop for Girls has its own activities, they may also share some of the same activities as Troop 571 so that families with boys and girls can have everyone involved.

The program for the Girls Troop and Boys Troop is the same. Girls have the same leadership opportunities, advancement program (Yes that means earning Eagle!), camping opportunities, merit badges, and national high adventure opportunities as the boys.

If fun, adventure, leadership, and friendship would interest your daughter or you are interested in helping out with this program or have questions, please contact us. For more information about Troop 5749 please visit our website.

Scout. It’s not just what I do, it’s who I am.
